OBLIVION MYTH Guitarist Accused Of Attempted Murder Out On Bail
January 7, 2013Ray LeGrand, vocalist of the Nashville, Tennessee-based metal band OBLIVION MYTH, was interviewed on yesterday's (Sunday, January 6) edition of the "Heavy Metal Mayhem" radio show with Mike "The Big Cheese". You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.
As previously reported, OBLIVION MYTH's 27-year-old guitarist, Christopher Lucas Selby, was arrested on January 1 and charged with attempted first-degree murder.
According to WSMV.com, a call was placed last Tuesday for a disorderly person at the Tulip Grove Apartment Complex in Hermitage, Tennessee. As the dispatched officer approached the third-story landing, he saw a man, later identified as Selby, arguing with a woman, Kelia Ramos, on the breezeway in front of an apartment. The officer said as he was walking up the stairway from the second floor to the third floor, Selby grabbed Ramos by her waist and start to push her over the railing.
Ramos grabbed Selby's arms and stated, "No, No pull me in."
Police said Ramos was hanging off the breezeway railing, so the officer pulled out his gun and ordered Selby to pull Ramos back onto the breezeway.
Selby complied and was taken into custody.
Speaking to "Heavy Metal Mayhem", LeGrand said: "Originally, [Chris'] bail was set at $100,000, which tells you it was viewed very seriously. But this [past] Friday [January 4], it was dropped to $15,000 — still very significant, but a huge drop. And then he is out on bail. So we do hope that that is an early indicator that this will go his way and that we can just get this all behind him. We're really pulling for our brother and hope everything works out."
